Hi all! Been an extremely busy week which is why there haven't been any blog posts lately. I've been re-evaluating E3 and might do some of the other conferences still but the main articles I'll be writing now are going to be the roundup and general thoughts posts. It was too much for me to cover on my own after working full time. Next year and for other events, I'm hoping to plan ahead better and try to book time off to accommodate and write both punctually and with quality.
With that out of the way, the main point of this post: Tez is back!

Myself (in the blue) and Thomas Mahoney (in the orange) showed off Tez for the second time on Tuesday the 19th of June, to what I'm glad to report was a really positive reception. The Arcade Vaults hosted their regular retro games night called Rebel Arcade that we were very kindly invited to show Tez off at. We tweaked a few things after the first demo, fixed some bugs, added some extra narration in parts and have generally tidied things up. We were happy with how it turned out aside from some inconsistency in our sound files, all seems well!
We made the mild mistake of tracking the times of the people who came to play which caused a mild war of attrition between Tom and Ricardo, his co-developer on HexWorld (which you can find out about at his site https://www.clockworkdragon.co.uk/). While they practised their speedrun strats, the others that came to play enjoyed a good balance between getting collectables, puzzle solving and trying to get a reasonable time.

We did track many peoples' times and had a few impressive runs! Let me know if you'd like to see a leaderboard and we will get that sorted. Suffice to say that people enjoyed it and it was great fun watching some competitive sides flaring up. I also wanted to give a huge shout out and thanks to the Arcade Vaults for hosting the event; they hold amazing retro games nights every month and it's always a fantastic time.
Finally, the major news we want to share is that a complete publicly available version of this build is going to be made available sometime in the near future, though we can't promise a specific deadline as we might do some extra tweaks or re-recording before that happens. When it does though, I will write a post here with a link and you'll be free to download it. E3 coverage will keep continue and then I'm hoping to get back to some reviews and opinion pieces. I have a grand plan for this blog that I might talk about soon so check in regularly for more info. Thanks for reading!
