Quick update - E3 plans

MisterDiggs

As I'm sure you're all aware by now, E3 is underway and the major conferences will be starting later this evening (Saturday 9th June) with the EA Conference starting at 7pm BST. I will be writing up as much coverage as I can but will be focusing largely on role-playing games, though not exclusively if there are some major and interesting developments or slightly more tenuous RPG links. For example, even though Anthem doesn't look to be a traditional RPG, it is a big enough deal to be worth mentioning, as well as potentially having vaguely enough links to RPG tropes to be interesting. The Division 2 is another example as despite not being an RPG, the original did have a degree of levelling (though mostly centred around loot) and the sequel is interesting enough to me to feel it is worth mentioning briefly.

My plans right now are to release a short summary for each conference as soon after the fact as possible and then a full length article describing what I though of the event as a whole and the most relevant information for RPG fans. If you'd rather see a different format for my E3 coverage, let me know through the contact form on the homepage of the blog.

There are a few big hitters in the more traditional RPG space to look forward to including Kingdom Hearts 3, Ghost of Tushima and hopefully, a first load of in-depth information about CD Projeckt Red's next big RPG; Cyberpunk 2077. As a huge fan of The Witcher 3 and with the way the studio have distanced themselves from some of the less consumer friendly DLC practices that have crept into single player games recently, I am extremely excited for this in particular. Other games I will be paying particular attention to and writing up on will include Fallout 76, a possible reveal of a rumoured sci-fi RPG in development at Bethesda by the name of Starfield and hopefully some sign of a Nintendo Switch entry to the Animal Crossing series (though if that doesn't pan out, I will still be covering the Nintendo conference in expectation of more information about the recently revealed Pokémon games).

E3 is always a huge event in the gaming calendar so I will be focused on that with my coverage for the next week or so. If you have any games you'd like me to look at in particular, get in touch via the contact form at the bottom of the front page of my homepage! It's really helpful to get feedback through that form and it will help me improve the site and cater it more towards your needs. Comment below with the games you're most excited for at E3 and which companies you think will put on the best show!
